O-Rings: A Brief Description
What is an o-ring? O-rings are the band that holds tapers, retainers , plugs , and tunnels in place. They're used for styles that have either a single flare or none at all. In general, they come in black rubber. They're also available in clear silicone for a more discreet look. Some times o-rings may have a a design to them. Some even glow in the dark!
- Note: Silicone is a good alternative for people with sensitive skin and rubber allergies.

The big benefit of jewelry with o-rings is how easy it is to pop the jewelry in and then slide on the rings. The biggest drawback is that they're easier to lose than something with a flare or machine head. As with most body jewelry, the rule is the easier it is to put in, the easier it is to fall out.
