Spooky Season Essential: Contact Lenses for Halloween & Safety Tips!

October means pumpkin spice, haunted houses, and the biggest question of the season: What’s your Halloween costume? Whether you’re going creepy, magical, or full-on cosplay, nothing transforms your look faster than contact lenses.

At BodyMods, we’re excited to once again launch the Primal contact lenses collection to add some spice to your Halloween, Costume/Cosplay look or even if you want to get a pair of natural-looking lenses to fit your vibe. From glowing vampire or werewolf looks, chilling ice blue and blackout lenses, to natural looks, these high-quality contact lenses are designed for safe wear and show-stopping style. Perfect for costumes, cosplay, or anyone who wants to stand out this fall.

But before you slip into character, let’s talk about how to wear your lenses safely. Here’s your ultimate Halloween contact lens guide, filled with do’s, don’ts, and step-by-step instructions on how to wear and remove them safely.

Contact Lenses Do’s: How to Wear Contacts Safely

If you’re trying Primal lenses for the first time, follow these rules for healthy, comfortable eyes:

  • Wash and rinse your hands thoroughly before handling lenses.
  • Clean, rinse, and disinfect lenses every time you remove them.
  • Handle with fingertips only (keep fingernails away).
  • Store lenses in a leak-proof case and clean the case before each use.
  • Clean and care for one lens at a time to avoid mix-ups, use disinfecting solution (or multipurpose solution), and saline solution for rinsing if needed
  • Replace your lenses and case regularly. Our lenses last 90 days of continuous wear.
  • Keep solutions stored at room temperature, caps closed tightly.
  • Have questions? Always check with your eye care professional.

Contact Lenses Don’ts: What to Avoid

To keep your Halloween cosplay lenses safe and comfortable:

  • Don’t reuse lens solution. Always start fresh.
  • Don’t use saline solution to disinfect lenses.
  • Don’t apply random eye drops not designed for contact lenses.
  • Don’t add medications to your solution without medical supervision.
  • Don’t wear lenses when around fumes, vapours, or harsh chemicals.
  • Don’t apply makeup to the inner eyelid; particles can stick to lenses.
  • Don’t let soaps or cosmetics touch your lenses.
  • Don’t touch the tip of your solution bottles to any surface.
  • Don’t store lenses in medicated drops.

How to Put in Your Contact Lenses

First time? Here’s how to insert your Primal contacts like a pro:

  1. Rinse lenses with multipurpose or saline solution.
  2. Keep your head up and eyes forward.
  3. Place the lens on your index finger and hold down your lower eyelid.
  4. Look up and gently place the lens on the white of your eye.
  5. Blink, the lens will center itself automatically.

How to Remove Your Contact Lenses

When the party’s over, here’s how to remove them safely:

  1. Add a drop of rewetting drops to moisten lenses.
  2. Look up, pull down your lower eyelid.
  3. Slide the lens down to the white of your eye.
  4. Pinch gently with thumb and index finger.
  5. If the lens sticks, moisten with solution and rub gently.
  6. Store in a disinfecting solution until next wear.
