Commitment to Education
In the early days of our industry, we quickly saw a critical need for education about body jewelry. This commitment to education remains a cornerstone of our work.
We created a detailed reference manual for our staff—a giant book covering everything related to our industry—from piercings and jewelry to healing times and aftercare.
Seeing the amount of misinformation online, we decided to provide all the knowledge we had gathered over the years on our Modipedia page, offering accurate and accessible information to anyone, anytime.
Our staff training program is rigorous and comprehensive. We believe it’s essential that every BodyMods team member can address any question related to piercings or tattoos.
We also developed a piercing apprenticeship program to teach best practices, health and safety, and client care based on our extensive experience. In our ongoing effort to elevate the industry, we offer paid apprenticeships for our dedicated staff.
At BodyMods, we focus on education because we know it’s crucial for ensuring informed choices and exceptional experiences for everyone we serve.
It’s also how we foster a community of inclusivity and acceptance. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with fairness and respect, no matter how they choose to express themselves—whether you have a bold, unique look or a subtle, contemporary style.
Individuality matters, and we proudly stand behind the idea that everyone should feel empowered to look and be exactly who they are, without judgment.
BodyMods is still 100% Canadian-owned and operated by its original founders, high school friends, Nathan & Sarah.
Growth and Development
We are committed to the growth and development of our Crew.
We offer comprehensive customer service and product knowledge training, management training, and apprenticeships in both piercing and tattooing.
For our dedicated crew members, we also offer access to paid external career development programs because we believe that when our crew members grow, so do we.
By promoting a culture of continuous learning, we aim to increase Crew productivity, satisfaction, and motivation, ensuring that every Crew member has the opportunity to enhance their skills and gain new knowledge.
Communication
We believe that clear and open communication is essential to maintaining a supportive and thriving work environment.
Every Crew member participates in daily and monthly check-ins designed to ensure their overall job satisfaction and well-being.
Daily check-ins include goal orientation through positive coaching and mentoring by company Leaders, while monthly check-ins cover key areas such as work/life balance, satisfaction with their schedule, and relationships with fellow Crew members.
We also discuss customer interactions, popular products, and professional challenges. Crew members are encouraged to share if they need extra training or support, and if they feel valued in their role.
We gather honest feedback on our company culture—what’s working and what can be improved. Crew members can also bring up topics like career advancement, ensuring that their voices are heard.
Well-Being and Success
We value our Crew members and are committed to their well-being and success.
Alongside competitive wages, we offer commission opportunities for retail positions and bonuses for management, ensuring that hard work is consistently recognized and rewarded.
We understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why we provide flexible schedules to suit individual needs.
Our comprehensive benefits package reflects our dedication to supporting our team, offering:
