Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports within the designated timelines to provide accurate financial insights for decision making.
Accuracy & Reconciliation: Ensure the accuracy of financial data by performing regular reconciliations of bank and account statements.
Invoice Processing: Manage the processing of invoices promptly, ensuring all invoices are completed within two business days of receipt.
Expense Management: Monitor and control accounting-related expenses to adhere to budgetary guidelines and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, as well as regulatory tax and financial requirements, with a focus on timely submissions to avoid late fees.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement at least one process improvement initiative per quarter to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments, responding to inquiries within one business day and providing clear financial reports with minimal revisions.
Financial Insights: Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting, ensuring forecasts remain within a 70% variance of actual results, and provide analytical reporting to aid in strategic decision-making.
Partner Relations: Manage relationships with internal clients and external vendors, ensuring a high satisfaction rate of 90% or higher for bookkeeping services.
Professional Development: Participate in relevant training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge in accounting practices, aiming for at least one certification or training completion per year.
Team Leadership: Support the development and mentoring of accounting team members, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess the overall performance of accounting processes and make recommendations for improvements, aiming for a continuous improvement approach.

Required Experience
Proven Experience in Accounting: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Management Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position, overseeing accounting or financial teams, is preferred.
Familiarity with Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills to manage financial data and reports effectively.
Experience with Financial Reporting: Hands-on experience in preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial statements and reports in a timely manner.
Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements, with experience in ensuring compliance within accounting operations.
Budgeting and Forecasting Skills: Demonstrated experience in budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and cost management.
Strong Analytical Skills: Proven track record of using analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and drive improvements in financial performance.
Customer Service Orientation: Experience in a customer-facing role or working closely with Stakeholders to provide exceptional service and support.
Continuous Learning: A commitment to professional development, with a history of pursuing relevant certifications or training in accounting or finance.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required to ensure a solid foundation in financial principles.
Professional Certifications (Preferred):
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications, such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), may be an asset.
Compensation
Salary: $58,000 - $62,000 based on experience
