Studio Artist - Kat Hansler

My name is Kat, and I became a piercing apprentice with BodyMods in February 2025 at Studio 6 in Kelowna.

For my entire life, self-expression and identity has been incredibly important to me. Feeling comfortable in our own skins and having confidence to face the world as we are is freeing, but in truth it can be challenging. It is a vulnerable journey, with each person’s path being vastly different. I hope that I can form strong bonds with and help each and every one of my clients walk these paths and achieve true self-expression through piercing.

When I began getting more piercings – starting when I was 18 – I remember feeling a blanket of comfort settle over me. Suddenly, facing the world didn’t seem as difficult. It expanded my interest into the body modification industry, where my passion has since blossomed. Whether you’re looking to keep it simple and classic, or to adorn yourself with a curation of studs or jewels, I believe piercings are a gateway to confidence.

I love to get creative, and piercings are a perfect opportunity to flex that creativity with all the different placements and jewelry options available. I look forward to working hands on with my clients to build curations that are fun, imaginative, and unique to you! Silver, opals, and other coloured gemstones are my personal favourite.

After a long day, I like to come home to my cat and rewind by lighting a candle, playing games, drawing, cooking, and going for walks.
