Hi I'm Amir!

I’ve been tattooing professionally since 2007. I originally got into tattooing because I’ve always been interested in art, drawing, and creating something that has a real connection to a person. Tattooing felt different from any other kind of art to me. A drawing can stay on paper, but a tattoo becomes part of someone’s life and story. That challenge and responsibility are what pulled me into it.

What I enjoy most about tattooing is the transformation from an idea into a finished piece on skin. I especially enjoy black and grey realism and portrait work because of the attention to detail, contrast, texture, and expression involved. I like the technical side of tattooing just as much as the creative side, figuring out how a design will work with the body and how to make it look strong as a tattoo.

I’m originally from Iran, where I started my tattoo career. For around 16 years, I worked as an underground tattoo artist because tattooing wasn’t an openly accepted or legally established profession there. There weren’t professional tattoo shops, conventions, or the same kind of tattoo community that exists in Canada. I had to learn, practice, build my clientele, and develop my skills mostly on my own and through years of hands-on experience.

Working underground for that long taught me to be adaptable, patient, and resourceful. Since moving to Canada, I’ve had the opportunity to experience tattooing in a completely different environment and continue developing as an artist.

After all these years, what keeps me interested is simple: there is always something new to learn, a new challenge to take on, and another piece of art to create.
